Shri Vachonidhi Ramchandra

Acharya is the President of Arya Samaj Gandhidham Charitable Trust. Since 1986, he has transformed Arya Samaj Gandhidham from a ormant stage into one of the most respected NGOs in India and a model Arya Samaj worldwide. His leadership has made Arya Samaj Gandhidham world famous.

Early Life & Family

• Born in Gandhidham, Shri Vachonidhi Acharya belongs to a family rooted in Sanskrit, Sanskar, and Samskriti.
• His father, Late Shri Ramchandra Acharya, was a freedom fighter and Sanskrit scholar, while his mother, Late Smt. Jyotsna Rani, imbibed cultural and moral values in him from childhood.
• He is blessed with family support — his elder son works at Google (USA), and his younger son stays in Gandhidham, continuing Arya Samaj activities.

Career & Service

• Started as a banker and served for 28 years before dedicating his life fully to social service in 2011.
• Key qualities: leadership, teamwork, positive outlook, strong stamina, and grassroots dedication.
• His motto: “Planning – Direction – Supervision is the key to success.”

Major Contributions

1. Disaster Relief:
• Led extensive relief work during the Kandla Cyclone (1998) and the Gujarat Earthquake (2001).
• During the earthquake, he personally mobilized relief — starting a community kitchen on 26th January 2001 evening, feeding hundreds of victims, and gradually scaling it to serve thousands daily.
2. Medical Service:
• Founded the Kutch District Medical Oxygen Bank, which saved countless lives during the Covid-19 pandemic.
3. Children’s Welfare:
• Established Jeevan Prabhat Gandhidham, an orphanage for children who lost their parents in the 2001 earthquake.
• Later expanded to Jeevan Prabhat Pondicherry for tsunami-affected children.
4. Education:
   
• Founded DAV Public School, Adipur (2009), a CBSE school committed to modern education with cultural values.

Recognition & Global Role

• Selected as part of the International Arya Samaj Team under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to celebrate the 200th birth anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati in 2024.
• Travels globally, representing Arya Samaj Gandhidham at various state, national, and international forums.
