A small fishing village Kaipanikupam on the eastern coast in Tamil Nadu was devastated by the Tsunami of December 2004. The people there had become helpless as they had lost every thing. As Arya Samaj wanted to do something for these poor people we visited the place and immediately decided to reconstruct their houses. In place of the thatched roof huts which they had prior to the Tsunami Arya Samaj constructed permanent houses for them.
